Appalachian WordFest is a one day celebration of the voices, stories, and creativity that flow from our beloved Appalachian Mountains. When authors, young poets, publishers, and book lovers gather together, our community of storytellers grows richer and more connected.

This year, we’re excited to welcome back fan favorites, like more than fourteen presentations from the authors you love, a lively student poetry slam, and a book fair to browse with plenty of authors and vendors. With food trucks, a complimentary coffee bar, and cozy spots to relax throughout the venue, Appalachian WordFest offers a warm, easygoing way to spend the day.
